3 WAYS TO HELP YOUR HOUSEPLANTS THRIVE THROUGH WINTER

Your house plant’s needs change as the seasons change. Here are three tips to help you keep your plants thriving through the winter months.

1. dust your plant’s leaves regularly

In the winter we are running our heater more, which is blowing air- and dust- all over our home, and our plants. Our plant friends can’t soak up the minimal winter sunshine if their leaves are covered in dust. Make sure you’re going over their leaves with a damp rag, or better yet, Happy Happy Houseplant’s Neem Oil kit every week or two to set your plant friends up for success through the winter.

2. Adjust your watering

Less sunlight during the winter means our plants don’t need as much water as they do in the lighter months. Make sure you are checking your plant’s soil and only watering when needed. Don’t forget the plant food. You can use plant food every time you water- even in the winter.

3. Move plants if necessary

Are any plant friends in the direct path of the heating vents? This is a quick death sentence if they are. Check your houseplant placement and move plants out of direct fire from the heater.

If you live in a place that gets cold weather and you have plants placed close to windows check to make sure they aren’t in danger of catching drafts, and maybe move them further away from the window if necessary.

I hope these tips help your plants thrive through winter!
