What Should My Newborn Wear? | Guest Blogger Natasha Sewell

THE BEST OUTFITS FOR NEWBORN PHOTOS

Sometimes the most difficult thing about family and newborn photography is deciding what to wear. Am I right??

As a photographer I can tell you some wardrobe choices photograph better than others.

Today you’re in for a treat because my dear friend, Natasha Sewell of NPS Photography has written a beautiful blog post for her “What to Wear Wednesday” series.

Some of my favorite tips from Natasha are:

One Piece Outfits

Why a one piece outfit?

  • two piece outfits are bulky and never seem to fit correctly

  • access to their feet is important!

So, which one piece outfits do I recommend?

  • onesies (solid colors please)

  • knotted gown (easy access to their feet)

  • a day gown

What should you avoid?

  • footed pjs (we can’t get to their feet!)

  • dark colors (babies skin absorbs all the dark colors - keep it light!)

My favorite gem on her post is a

I met this amazing woman at the Reset Conference in 2021. We continue to stay in touch and are in a couple different groups lead by our friend and mentor Sabrina Gebhardt.

If you know anyone in the DC area looking for a fabulous photographer to make beautiful images of their family you should definitely put them in touch with NPS Photography.
