FUN THINGS TO DO WITH KIDS IN SAN DIEGO DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Think back to what the holiday season was like when you were a kid. What do you remember most?

I have so many fond memories of holidays with my immediate and extended family. It can be such a warm and magical time of year. When I became a mother I was excited to continue some traditions from my childhood, and also start new traditions of our own.

When my boys were toddlers we started a new tradition:

Family Shopping Day

We find a day in December and take the boys [usually] to a mall. My husband and I split up, each taking one kid to shop for their brother. The mall only has a few stores that are great for finding kid gifts so we have to try to avoid seeing each other, but thats also part of the fun if you have to quickly hide because you see the other pair nearby.

After they find a gift for each other we meet at one of the mall restaurants and sometimes even see a movie together. It sounds so simple but we always have so much fun and it’s become my favorite family tradition.

I’ve included a list and some links of other family traditions I enjoy with my family, and things we’ve been wanting to try. San Diego has so many great experiences and places to enjoy. I’d love to hear if you try any and also please share your family’s favorite holiday tradition.
